Reaching beyond your comfort zone...

Hey Loves,
Today I will be talking about leaving your comfort zone! Yes we all have one and for most us getting involved in any activity beyond our comfort zone is a really scary thought.
I had an experience lately that changed my perspective on this matter. Before now, I never considered myself a leader,  I always thought of myself as someone in the middle that holds the balance. Not that I was ever a pushover, I just had never truly been in a leadership position. This flaw, I have mostly attributed to my shy nature.
However, a few weeks back, we were given a group presentation task and I was automatically elected leader of the group! For the first time in my life I had to lead a group of female adults! Make sure our task was completed and presented within the scheduled time.
For the first time I was in the spotlight and that really confused and worried me but I decided to face up to it. I have to say, in carrying out this duty, I learned more about my strengths and weaknesses,  how far I could push myself, effectively manage a team, and at the same time, be a good team player. Needless to say anger management played a major role!
At the end of the 2 weeks I had pushed myself and my team mates hard in order to produce the best, my classmates who were also my teamates confessed to have never seen that side of me!..LOL. But it was worth it!
Not only did the presentation go smoothly, we also scored an 'A' on the module!
I am really happy I took the bull by the horn and challenged myself to do something I ordinarily would shy away from and it was absolutely worth it!
Do something out of your comfort zone today, you will love the experience it gives!
Until next time, stay blessed....xoxo

Bitterness

Hey Loves,
Today I will be talking on bitterness! It was the topic of the sermon today in church and I have to say, I have never really thought of it. The whole idea that our unresolved anger somehow eats us up and then manifests into deep resentment and bitterness towards a particular situation/person is perhaps not new but hearing the way the preacher gave a critical analysis of the word 'bitterness' somehow, resonated with me.
We've all had or have been in difficult situations in the past, maybe a heartbreak, disappointments, family spats, betrayals, etc., the one thing we should take away from each experience is what we learned from it. Leave the hatred and anger you feel behind and 'walk into the light' as the saying goes, because you can't keep drinking poison in hopes that it kills someone else.
Forgiveness is not the easiest thing to do but it will be rewarding if we tried to let it all go. Don't let someone live in your head rent free:) so cheer up, keep your mind clean and leave it all up to God.
Until next time, stay blessed!....xoxo
